The fresco depicts a beheading. It’s in a church that dates from the 1st century. The fresco was created in the 16th. The building was restore with the fresco left unaltered. The thing is on a small terrace on a cliff.
The gate? Yeah, that’s a thousand years old. It’s called the Saracen Gate and provided the pinch point between the two.
The narrow, named “street” is barely shoulder width. Kinda cool.
