Like a lot of people, I do most of my computing on a laptop. Computing is pretty much a misnomer, however, as I do very little actual computing, and significantly more writing, web page creation, surfing, etc. I'm not sure the last time I truly computed – as in generated numbers and performed computations on them. Now that I have digressed to the point of insignificance, perhaps back to the topic: my laptop.
I ply my trade mostly on my Macbook Pro, though now, I have a desktop at the office upon which I do the MS Office coding. As most people do, I don't really use it as a laptop away from power sources and such running on a battery. No, I use it mostly as a lightweight transportable, and plug it in where ever I happen to drop anchor. I think that may have contributed to my problem displayed in the pretty image below. BTW, coconutBattery is a nice little free app.

Wow. more than 3200 load cycles. That's just about equal to the number of laundry cycles I've done in my life (at 2 loads/week). I have heard that Lithium Ion batteries are not subject to short cycles diminishing their life, but I am not so convinced. I rarely left this off a charger for very long and my battery, as you can see is toast. Now I need to make sure I shut everything down before transporting the case to another location. A bit of a hassle. At least until I drop the coin necessary for a new battery.
