Leaving Seattle yesterday on I-90, we encountered a complete stoppage. Apple Maps helpfully and conveniently provided a reroute – as it does. Trying to get back onto the freeway, we were stopped by the highway patrol on the ramp. It provided a nice view to what was creating the stoppage: dirt and rocks on the road surface. They used snowplows to clear it.
The beauty of the reroute was that when the highway reopened, we were one of the first cars moving. Much better than where we would have been – several kilometers back in the angry pack.
